Plucinski began her career with the Great Lakes Indian Fisheries Commission in October 1983 as a clerk/typist. She continued working in this position when the Voigt Intertribal Task Force and the Great Lakes Indian Fisheries Commission merged in 1984. In 1986, Plucinski joined the Public Information Office and has held several roles in the department. Plucinski grew up in Mellen, Wisconsin, and earned an associate degree from Northwood Technical College in Ashland.
