Mikayla Swanson

Mikayla Swanson, Bad River tribal member and Ashland, WI native, graduated in the summer of 2024 from the University of Wisconsin-Superior with a bachelors in multimedia journalism. Swanson started as an intern at GLIFWC in the summer of 2024 in the Public Information Office, transitioning after to working in the Biological Services division to help build out the biology pages on the new and improved GLIFWC website. Swanson has now been hired on to be the Website & Media Digitization specialist, continuing to work on the website and transitioning to help archive and store 40 years of Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) interviews and footage.
