The Comptroller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the Great Lakes Indian
Fish & Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC), ensuring fiscal responsibility in accordance with
GLIFWC’s Accounting Policies & Procedures. This includes producing accurate financial
reports, maintaining accounting systems, implementing strong internal controls, and ensuring
compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental
Accounting Standards Board (GASB) guidelines. Reporting directly to the Deputy
Administrator, the Comptroller supervises accounting staff and manages departmental
operations. Additionally, this role provides strategic financial leadership by advising GLIFWC’s
leadership team on financial risks, opportunities, and long-term planning to support
organizational growth and sustainability.
