Stop the Spread of Aquatic Invasives!
- Follow these steps to prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species (AIS):
- REMOVE any mud or debris, plants and animals from you boat, trailer and equipment.
- DRAIN all water from boat, fish boxes and equipment ensuring it does not drain back into waterbody.
- CLEAN or DRY boat, trailer and all equipment that came into contact with water (nets, buoys, anchor, ropes, lines, etc.):
- Dry for 5 days, or
- Wash with hot water >140°F

- Additional requirements applicable to "infested waters" of Minnesota (including Mille Lacs):
- CLEAN or DRY boat, trailer and all equipment that came into contact with water (nets, buoys, anchor, ropes, lines, etc.):
- Dry for 10 days, or
- Freeze for at least 2 days before using in noninfested waters.
