GLIFWC objects to the recent culling of Ma’iinganag (Wolves) in Price County
GLIFWC calls on State of Wisconsin and USDA to include GLIFWC and Tribes in Ceded Territory Management.
In mid-September 2026, GLIFWC and its member Tribes were notified by Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources that action had been taken to euthanize an entire pack of nine wolves consisting of four pups, three yearlings, and two adults in Price County, located between the Lac du Flambeau, Lac Courte Oreilles, and Bad River reservations within the 1837/1842 Ceded Territories.
Forest Hydro-Ecologist
Develop and implement surface and ground-water hydrology projects to inform tribal evaluation and management of forest hydrologic systems.
Work with GLIFWC’s Environmental Section to review and comment on projects and proposals that may impact groundwater or surface water hydrology, including but not limited to mining/extractive industries, diversions, logging, dams/culverts, infrastructure
development, as well as landscape scale hydrological changes occurring as a consequence of climate change.
