Custodian

JOB SUMMARY: GLIFWC is seeking a Custodian to support the cleanliness, safety, and 
overall upkeep of its facilities. This position is primarily responsible for custodial and basic 
maintenance functions and works independently to ensure a clean, functional, and organized 
work environment across two nearby buildings. The role may also provide occasional support for 
office operations and events.

Payroll and Benefits Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Payroll Administration (using Abila MIP Accounting software):
• Process bi-weekly payroll, including data entry and check printing.
• Prepare and file unemployment insurance reports.
• Issue year-end W-2 forms.
• Complete quarterly reporting:
o SUTA reports for MI, MN, and WI
o IRS Form 941
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll files.
• Provide income and employment verifications for outside agencies (e.g., child support,
housing).
• Process FICA and retirement distribution payments.

Comptroller

JOB SUMMARY: The Comptroller is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the 
Great Lakes Indian Fish & Wildlife Commission (GLIFWC), ensuring fiscal responsibility in 
accordance with GLIFWC’s Accounting Policies & Procedures. This includes producing 
accurate financial reports, maintaining accounting systems, implementing strong internal 
controls, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and 

Creel Worker

POSITION SUMMARY: This role is intended for a partnered team, and both applicants must submit individual applications. While applying as a pair is preferred, applicants who do not apply with a partner will be assigned a partner by the Creel Manager or GLIFWC Warden from the pool of applicants. 

Creel Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY: Creel Coordinators typically work in teams of two, and if you do not have a partner, the Creel Manager will assign one. On your application, please list the area/location you are applying for. 

Under the supervision of the Creel Manager, Creel Coordinators assist with coordinating nightly creel operations, provide day-to-day support and guidance to Creel Workers, and help monitor and record spring fishing harvest activities at assigned lakes or rivers.
